Most people don't need someone to tell them to "follow their passion." They need a clear plan for a real decision: whether to change careers, how to escape a job that's burning them out, or what to actually do next when the obvious path stopped making sense. Career coaching gives you that — a structured process, an honest outside perspective, and the accountability to follow through, instead of another motivational speech.
At Ascended Life, we match you with a career coach who fits your situation, then work with you to build the plan and execute it.
What a Career Coach Helps You Do
A good career coach doesn't hand you answers. They help you think clearly when the decision is complicated, then translate that clarity into concrete steps.
Common reasons people come to us:
Changing careers or industries
Deciding whether to leave, figuring out where to go, and building a realistic path to get there without starting from zero.
Getting unstuck after burnout
When the problem isn't the work itself but how depleted you've become, we help you diagnose what's actually broken and rebuild a sustainable way forward.
Landing a specific role or promotion
Interview preparation, positioning, negotiation, and the strategy to move from where you are to the role you're aiming for.
Finding clarity when you feel directionless
When you have options but no clear direction, we help you understand what you actually want and why — then narrow it into a decision you can move on.
How Career Coaching Works at Ascended Life
A simple, repeatable process
01
Assess where you are
We start by understanding your situation, your goals, and the real blockers in the way, not the surface ones.
02
Build the plan
Together we turn a broad goal ("I want a better career") into specific, achievable steps with a timeline.
03
Execute with accountability
Each session reviews progress, adjusts the plan, and keeps you moving. Outside accountability is often the difference between a plan and a result.
04
Measure and adapt
We track progress against the goals you set, and pivot the strategy as your situation changes.
Career coaching tends to help most when you're:
- Considering a career change but unsure whether — or how — to make the move
- Burned out and unable to tell whether it's the job, the role, or something deeper
- Aiming for a specific promotion, raise, or role and want a strategy to get there
- Successful on paper but unclear on what you actually want next
- Tired of deciding alone and want a structured, objective partner in the process
If you're facing a clinical mental-health concern rather than a career decision, coaching isn't a substitute for therapy — and a good coach will tell you so and help you find the right support.
Career Coaching FAQ
What's the difference between a life coach and a recruiter?
A recruiter's job is to fill a role for an employer. A career coach works for you — helping you decide what you want, build a plan, and follow through, regardless of any specific job opening.
How is career coaching different from therapy?
Therapy focuses on mental and emotional health, often exploring the past. Career coaching is future-focused and action-oriented — clarifying goals and building the plan and habits to reach them. The two can complement each other.
How long does coaching take?
It depends on the goal. A single decision might take a few sessions; a full career transition often takes longer. In your first session, you'll set a realistic timeline together.
How much does career coaching cost?
Your first consultation is free, with no obligation and sessions start at 75 dollars for a coaching session. We do, however, try to stay within your budget and means.
How will I be matched with a coach?
Tell us about your situation and goals, and we'll pair you with a coach from our network whose specialty and experience fit what you're working on.
